An easy way to update your Airstream or Argosy trailer or Motorhome is change up the decor of your kitchen. Vintage Trailers, for the most part, have always had a dark kitchen. Back in the 60’s and 70’s, rich dark wood was considered “fancy” and upscale. Fast forward to 2018 and that rich dark wood (or in our case, plastic, is not only outdated but also faded.

While the trend, today, is to make everything white from bedding to couch to curtain to walls, we do like a little color. Our Argosy Motorhome has a more laid back Red, White and Blue theme as a tribute to my husband’s service in the USMC. Personally, I think he was tired of seeing too many girlie colors in our Vintage Trailers and just wanted something more masculine.

We only had a small space that needed the Peel and Stick Tiles in our Motorhome so we thought it was worth the $32 investment.

Since this is a Motorhome, we could have used real tiles because the weight would not be a problem like it could be for a trailer.

Install is a bit tricky with the Airstream Curve. If you have a Vintage Trailer (or new one!) that has a straight wall, installation will be a breeze. The curve gave us a bit of trouble when cutting and aligning the subway tiles. If you look closely, you can see one tiny bubble and one spot where the tile/grout did not line up perfectly.

It’s best to install the entire bottom then move Up vs. Left to Right or Right to Left. Installing up is much easier to align and makes the job move faster.

There are different colors of tile and different grout colors with the white. We went with a Heather gray grout to match our tin walls.
